Pregnancy and Post Partum Mental Health

ARE YOU CURRENTLY PREGNANT OR DID YOU RECENTLY HAVE A NEW BABY?

Perhaps you are feeling conflicted because you hoped to experience happiness during this time but may instead be filled with anxiety, depression or feeling overwhelmed with what has happened to you surrounding your motherhood experience. Maybe your pregnancy was deemed high risk and you were not able to enjoy it the way you wanted to do. Perhaps your delivery might have gone against your birth plan and you might be struggling to come to terms with the loss you experienced as a result of this. Maybe your beautiful new baby was whisked away to the NICU immediately upon birth and needs medical intervention, leaving you feeling robbed of those precious first moments of motherhood. You may feel very alone in this experience and do not know how to cope with the conflicting emotions that are emerging as a result of what you have just gone through.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. WE CAN HELP YOU WORK THROUGH THESE EMOTIONS AND BEGIN FEELING JOY AS A NEW PARENT.

Several of our wonderful therapists specialize in working with pregnant and post partum mothers (and their partners) that are experiencing:

  • Depression or anxiety

  • A high risk pregnancy

  • Pregnancy/birth trauma

  • NICU related trauma

  • Grief and loss surrounding their pregnancy and post partum experience

Destiny, in particular, practices using a perinatally focused lens and combines this with her training in EMDR to process unhealed traumatic memories, leaving you feeling less "triggered" in the current and more at peace with your past.
