Licensed Master Social Worker

I have always felt called to help people and their families in a variety of contexts. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Bridgeport in psychology and human services. I began my journey and worked as a teacher assistant in a special needs school, and then became a special education tutor in the public school’s system. My experience working in the school system inspired me to go back to graduate school for my Masters in Social Work, at Southern CT State University. Working as a teacher and with families in other capacities has helped me to appreciate the difficulties and challenges that parents often face while raising their children.

Becoming a mother helped to solidify for me the desire to work with and help others, particularly women during the perinatal and child rearing years. I am very passionate about maternal mental health and in helping any parent be and feel successful.  During these years, life is beautiful, but messy and hard. I can help during the more difficult times when life feels overwhelming and extra support is needed. I help clients through mood and anxiety disorders re-shift their thoughts and ideas bringing them to a more calm and safe space. I like to provide an environment where you feel free to be yourself and talk about the hard stuff. Therapy isn’t easy, it’s a slow and steady process. I offer a warm, gentle, authentic and nurturing environment. I want clients to feel comfortable to share their stories, to feel heard and to help them feel in control of their emotional experience.
